A meeting of representatives of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption of the Republic of Tajikistan with the leadership and specialists of the region's education system was held in the conference room of the education department of the city of Khorog, Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region. The event was held within the framework of the Agency's Action Plan and is aimed at increasing the legal literacy of civil servants and employees of educational institutions, the Agency's press center reports.
The meeting was attended by Agency employees, heads of kindergartens, principals of comprehensive schools, and representatives of local education authorities.
The main topic of discussion was the role of education in forming attitudes against corruption among young people. Participants were presented with reports on the state anti-corruption policy, current regulatory legal acts, as well as on measures to prevent offenses in the field of education.
Particular attention was paid to the threats of youth involvement in extremist and terrorist organizations, the problem of illegal drug trafficking, and issues of rational use of energy resources. Agency representatives emphasized that the fight against corruption requires a systemic approach, starting with the education of schoolchildren and students.
Responsible persons were given specific recommendations on preventing corruption risks in educational institutions, and were also offered forms of interaction with local anti-corruption structures.
The Agency's press center noted that similar meetings with representatives of the social sphere will continue in other regions of the republic as part of a general strategy to strengthen law and order and reduce corruption in government structures.
