In the Sughd region of Tajikistan, a solemn ceremony was held to award scholarships of the regional chairman for students, master's degree students and postgraduates for the 2024-2025 academic year. The event was held as part of the youth month in the building of the executive body of state power of the region.
As reported by the press service of the regional administration, 250 students in higher and secondary vocational educational institutions of the region received scholarships. According to the department, this year the number of scholarships has almost doubled – from 130 to 250, and the amount of payments has also doubled.




"Support for youth and the implementation of state youth policy under the leadership of the Leader of the Nation, the respected Emomali Rahmon, is one of the key areas of activity of government bodies. Young people are the support and future of our state, and our task is to create the necessary conditions for their development and potential," said the chairman of the Sughd region, Rajabboy Akhmadzoda, in his speech.
The head of the region also emphasized that an important priority is the development of natural, exact and mathematical sciences within the framework of the "Twenty Years of Study and Development of Natural, Exact and Mathematical Sciences for 2020-2040" proclaimed in Tajikistan. He called on young people to study these disciplines in depth, to be patriots of their country and to actively participate in the fight against extremism and other negative phenomena in society.





At the end of the ceremony, Akhmadzoda wished the scholarship winners further success in their studies and scientific work, and also expressed confidence in their contribution to the development of the region and the entire republic.
According to the regional administration, there are currently 10 higher and 22 secondary vocational educational institutions operating in Sughd, with over 70 thousand students and pupils studying there.
