Tajik police officers have uncovered cases of fraud committed by Tajik citizens in Dushanbe and Russia, the Tajik Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
Thus, a case of fraud was registered by the OMVD-1 for the Sino district of Dushanbe, which was reported by a 32-year-old local resident. According to his statement, on June 6, 2024, a 33-year-old resident of the Yavan district, having gained his trust, took his Mercedes-Benz car for 230 thousand somoni, promising to return the money as soon as possible. However, the promise was not fulfilled, and the fraudster spent the money on personal needs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan reports.
As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan, during operational and investigative activities, police officers detained another suspect, a 25-year-old resident of the B. Gafurov district. This incident occurred on February 1, 2025, in the city of Tver, Russian Federation, where the suspect, having gained the trust of a 47-year-old resident of the Hamadoni district, promised to transfer 1 million 62 thousand Russian rubles from Tver to Tajikistan. However, having received the money, he spent it on his own needs.
A criminal case has been opened against the detainee under Part 4 of Article 247 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan, and investigative actions are being carried out.
