Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, co-chairman of the Tajik part of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation with Iran Daler Juma held a meeting in Tehran with the First Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammadreza Aref. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the conversation, the parties noted the positive dynamics of the development of bilateral relations, emphasizing that the intensification of interstate cooperation in key areas of the economy and social life is the result of the consistent policies of the leaders of Tajikistan and Iran.
As noted at the meeting, trade turnover between the countries in the first quarter of 2025 amounted to 110.6 million US dollars, which is 42.9% or $33.2 million more than the same period last year.
The parties expressed mutual interest in further strengthening trade and economic ties, implementing joint investment projects and creating new platforms for business interaction.
In particular, the issues of creating a Trade Center of Tajikistan and Iran, as well as a Center for Digital Technologies and Innovations in the city of Dushanbe were discussed.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to strengthening cooperation in the areas of energy, transport, industry, science and education.
Minister Daler Juma also confirmed the participation of Iran's First Vice President Mohammadreza Aref in the International Conference on Glacier Conservation, which will be held in Dushanbe on May 29-31 this year.
The negotiations took place in a constructive atmosphere, and the parties expressed their readiness to expand cooperation and deepen bilateral partnership at all levels.
