The President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon went on a working visit to the Russian Federation at the invitation of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. As reported by the press service of the head of state, the visit is timed to participate in the ceremonial events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
At the Dushanbe International Airport, Emomali Rahmon was seen off by the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli, the Prime Minister of the country, the Head of the Executive Office of the President, as well as other officials.
The head of state is accompanied on the trip by the Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on Foreign Relations and representatives of a number of ministries and departments.
President Emomali Rahmon is expected to attend commemorative ceremonies planned in Moscow on May 9, including a military parade on Red Square and events within the international format, where heads of state will discuss current issues of regional and international cooperation.
The visit of the Tajik leader underlines the high level of strategic partnership between Tajikistan and Russia, as well as the traditionally close ties between the peoples of the two countries.
