The police detained a resident of the city of Kulyab on suspicion of repeated witchcraft and disclosure of personal data of clients. This was reported by the Department of Internal Affairs for the Khatlon Region.
According to the investigation, citizen Sharipova Mastura Kuvatalievna, born in 1979, a resident of the village of Korezi Poyon, Ziraki jamoat, despite previously taken preventive measures, again organized a reception of citizens at her home, where she engaged in fortune telling, occult practices and the restoration of “spoiled” interpersonal relationships.
In addition, as established during the course of operational investigative activities, the suspect also performed bloodletting (hijoma), distributed water with “magical properties” and received visitors in unsanitary conditions.
Of particular concern is the fact that, in violation of ethical and legal norms, the woman published on the Internet photographs of two of her clients, Madina Nazrieva (born in 1998) and Zulaykho Makhmadalieva (born in 1991), residents of Kulyab, who turned to her for “fortune telling” and “problem resolution” services.
As the Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized, such actions are classified as intentional misleading of citizens, as well as a violation of the law on personal data.
A criminal case has been opened against the detainee under Part 1 of Article 240¹ of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan (repeated witchcraft). Investigative actions are ongoing.
Law enforcement agencies remind citizens of the inadmissibility of participating in occult practices and warn against turning to so-called “healers” and “fortune tellers.”
