On May 7, 2025, by order of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the head of the Khatlon region Davlatali Said visited veterans of the Great Patriotic War – Rozik Kosimov, living in the village of Pakhtaobod, Vakhsh district, and Zainullo Aliyev, living in the city of Bokhtar, the press service of the regional administration reported.
Davlatali Said expressed his sincere congratulations to the veterans on Victory Day, wishing them health, long life and well-being in their families. He noted the importance of their contribution to the Victory and the heroism shown during the war, thanked them for serving the Motherland and conveyed congratulations on behalf of the President of Tajikistan, presenting each veteran with 50,000 somoni, as well as 10,000 somoni on behalf of the authorities of the Khatlon region.








In addition, in recognition of the merits of the participants of the Great Patriotic War, veterans received the "80th Anniversary of Victory" medals from the Ministry of Defense of Tajikistan.
Rozik Kosimov, born in 1926, served in the army from 1945, took part in battles against Japanese troops in Mongolia and was awarded many orders and medals. After the war, he continued to serve until 1948, rebuilding destroyed cities. He is currently celebrating his 99th birthday.
Zaynullo Aliyev, born in 1920, participated in the liberation of Leningrad, Kalinin and other cities, fought on the fronts of Belarus and Eastern Europe. He is a veteran who has always served as an example of courage for future generations. Now Zaynullo Aliyev lives surrounded by children and grandchildren and continues to receive gratitude for his service.
Today, there are only 8 veterans of the Great Patriotic War living in the Khatlon region. The oldest is 102-year-old Faizaliy Safarali, and Zaynullo Aliyev turned 100. The other veterans also celebrate high age limits – from 99 to 101 years.
