By decision of the Chairman of the Sughd Region, Rajabboy Akhmadzoda, 438 thousand somoni were allocated from the regional budget as one-time financial assistance to participants in the Great Patriotic War and home front workers. The measure is timed to coincide with the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
As reported by the regional administration, 53 veterans living in various districts of Sogd will receive support. Of these, 51 home front workers will receive 8,000 somoni each, and two combat veterans will receive 15,000 somoni each.
Currently, 51 home front workers and two war veterans live in the Sughd region, including: 6 people live in the Asht district, 3 in Bobojon Gafurov, 1 in Buston, 5 in Devashtich, 1 in Zafarabad, 17 in Istaravshan, 1 in Isfara and Panjakent, 4 in Khujand, 1 in Jabbor Rasulov district and 11 in Shakhriston district.
Particular attention is paid to the two surviving participants in the hostilities. They are 101-year-old Bibola Ruzimov, a resident of the Gazantarak jamoat in the Devashtich district, and 100-year-old Nozim Nosirov, a resident of the Dalyon Boloi jamoat in the same district.
The regional authorities emphasized that providing social support to veterans is a duty of society and an expression of gratitude for their feat.
