In the city of Kanibadam in the Sughd region, during a working visit, the Chairman of the Sughd region Rajabboy Akhmadzoda put into operation a number of social facilities, including the renovated Istiklol Culture and Recreation Park and two modern sports grounds in the rural jamoats of Firuzoba and Patar.
As reported by the press service of the regional chairman, after the reconstruction, the Istiklol Park received over 20 new attractions, points of sale for soft drinks, recreation areas and children's games, as well as a stage for cultural events. According to Rajabboy Akhmadzoda, the renovation of the central city park was made possible thanks to the initiatives and constant support of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.





"Improving the city and improving the conditions for residents' leisure are the most important priorities within the framework of the state program for regional development," the head of the region noted. Istiklol Park occupies an area of 1.7 hectares and is becoming one of the popular recreation areas for children and adults.







In addition, during his visit to Kanibadam, the head of the region took part in the opening of two sports grounds. The first of them was built on the territory of secondary comprehensive school No. 37 in the village of Hisorak, Firuzoba jamoat. The facility was built by the efforts of local residents based on the principle of collective mutual assistance – hashar. At the opening of the site, Akhmadzoda held a meeting with teachers and students of the school, focusing on the active implementation of social projects in the field of education.








The second sports ground was opened in Patar jamoat on the territory of school No. 21. The area of the structure is 2706 sq. m, the size of the playing area is 62 by 32 meters. It is designed for playing football, volleyball, basketball and conducting physical training classes. The project was implemented with the support of local residents, the total cost was 600 thousand somoni.




Rajabboy Akhmadzoda highly appreciated the contribution of the population to the development of social infrastructure. He reported that the construction of new educational buildings at schools in both settlements is also planned at the expense of the regional budget.
During the working visit, the head of the region also inspected the current state of the central stadium of Konibodom, designed for 10 thousand spectators. It is planned to carry out major repairs to meet international standards.




Akhmadzoda also visited and congratulated veterans of labor on Labor Day – 95-year-old Dekhkonboy Yormatov, teacher Ikbola Khaitova and disabled person of the first group Mukhammadzhon Sarimsokov. During the meetings, he emphasized that caring for the older generation remains a constant priority of state policy.
