On the eve of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, construction of a park of culture and recreation named after the outstanding Persian-Tajik poet Abulkasim Firdausi continues in the city of Penjikent in the Sughd region. This was reported by the regional administration.
The park is being built at the eastern entrance to the city, at the intersection of Rudaki Avenue and Saadi Shirazi Street. According to the project, the architectural composition of the object is made in the form of a musical instrument tar. The complex will include monumental gates, a sculpture of Abulkasim Firdausi, decorative bas-reliefs, as well as statues of the heroes of the famous epic "Shahnameh" – Rustam and Suhrab. In addition, the park will have fountains, walking alleys and recreation areas for citizens and guests of the city.

During his working visit to Penjikent, the Chairman of the Sughd Region, Rajabboy Akhmadzoda, visited the construction site of the park, got acquainted with the progress of the work and gave relevant recommendations. He emphasized the importance of ensuring high quality construction and strict compliance with the approved project.
“The creation of the park named after Firdousi is a tribute to the rich cultural heritage of the Tajik people, as well as recognition of the poet’s contribution to the development of world literature,” the head of the region said.
It is planned that the new park will become one of the central objects of the city infrastructure and a popular place for recreation and cultural leisure of the population.
